  1. I scour second hand shops for DVDs, & my local community has a thing during the winter where we watch DVDs in a hall. The hall has a licence for us to watch stuff like that, so I’m often looking for the kind of things they might like. Another thing our local community does is it has a swap table, where people put stuff they don’t want, & pick up what they do. It’s been really handy for me to drop off spare items I can’t use, & to pick up stuff I can. I love little things like that; they help everybody so much. Our local council even grows apple trees on public ground like walks & parks, & there are plenty of wild blackberries everywhere here
When I went partying, all the tops would come from charity shops, then after a wash, they’d go to another charity shop. I effectively rented them, while raising money for the charities, & it saved me a load too. The trousers got reused

  2. As long as I have one bin bag in the bottom of my outside bin to keep rubbish from sticking, I then reuse bin bags. I literally empty bin bags straight into the bin and reuse the bag. I went from using 5 bin bags a week to using 1 a week

  3. I use old cardboard boxes in the middle of my compost bin (all tape and labels removed) and fill them with the green ingredients like my guinea pigs and hamsters waste. As it goes in the center of the pile, it heats up the bin and kick starts it!

  4. Dry cleaning bags can be used for trash (tie a knot to close the hole from hangers).
Bags from tortillas, bread or any food that is ready to eat can be used as a sandwich bag or for other food uses.
